I love this! I've recently found myself thinking about the possibility of pursuing a doctorate. And then questions arise... "At this point??" I appreciate your perspective and admire your perseverance.
I did ask myself - what will I think about this decision at 90? That put the age thing into perspective. If you do your PhD at 60 you still have decades ahead to put it to use!
Congrats. But if you really want to understand human beings-get a law degree. The law is the framework and structure under which the world functions. It defines acceptable behavior and behavior that must be punished. It operates constantly on the border of that definition of acceptable and not. Much more elucidating than brain chemistry and personality disorders.
